In
1998, renowned European Art Deco dealer Anne Hauck introduced her
collection of authentic furnishings, lighting, fine art, and accessories
from the 1920’s through the 1930’s, in Los Angeles to
enthusiastic top designers as well as an exuberant and welcoming
public. Prior to Anne’s arrival, designers and patrons alike
were forced to travel to Europe to locate genuine Art Deco pieces of this quality.
Anne and her unique collections have been vigorously embraced since
her first showroom opened.
Within
a year of Anne's arrival, Anne Hauck Art Deco became an enormous
success, much as it had been in the German cities of Frankfurt and Bad Homburg. Now located in the design district on Melrose Avenue
in West Hollywood, Anne Hauck Art Deco boasts the finest collection
of genuine Art Deco furnishings, art, and décor on the west
coast.
“In the beginning”, Anne states, “I had
no idea whether or not the Art Deco style would work here, but I
soon discovered that there had been an extensive history and tradition
of Art Deco and the Art Deco style in Los Angeles, dating back to
the days of a young Hollywood.”
She
continues, “Art Deco is represented in architecture, films…everywhere
in Los Angeles. Director Martin Scorcese, whom is renowned for his
perfectionism, requested my assistance in decorating and furnishing
the sets for his 2005 film “The Aviator” with a large
part of my collection.”
“The
idea” Anne says, “is to locate and acquire unblemished
original pieces that were handcrafted by the master craftsmen and
women of the era. I have been collecting for over 25 years: without
my exclusive sources all over Germany and France, this would be
impossible today. I still travel to Europe almost every month to
ensure our clientele will be happy!” |
